The Awakening history and lore takes place in a parallel universe to that of Wurm Online. It has also been inspired by several fantasy book series, of which the most prominent would be Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson's the Wheel of Time, but also Earthsea by Ursula K Leguin, the tales of Elric of Melniboné by Michael Moorcock, and many others.
