Religions

The deities and priests from the world of Wurm Online have been removed and replaced by nine new deities and a new priest model, where priests are now called "adepts", which go through tough initiation tests before being accepted into adeptship. To become an adept, a number of requirements need to be fullfilled.

Because of the tough requirements, the priest restrictions in Wurm Online have been removed and replaced with a lighter restriction model.

For complete details about the deities adepts, please refer to the Awakening Religion spreadsheet.

Becoming an Adept

The first step is to become a follower of a deity, this is done by asking an adept who with their holy item will be able to initiate a religion conversion. The most common method however, is to go inside the great tower of Tirvalon, Cellimdar or Shodroq, or the Hall of Qaleshin in the city of Thekandre. Citizens of any kingdom may become both follower and adept of any deity of any kingdom - but if it is an enemy kingdom, you will need an invitation by one of it's citizens, or you can buy a diplomatic passport from a trader, otherwise city guards will attack. Inside the tower you will need to look for the initiating adept of the chosen deity and talk, to get the option to become follower.

Once you've become a follower, you need to gain 30 faith with the deity, by praying at an altar. However, you also need to look in the Awakening Religion spreadsheet what more requirements you need. It varies between deities how difficult the requirements are, becoming adept of some deities will take quite a long time, so you should be prepared for this. When you have gained all requirements, you need to go to the initiating adept of the deity, and talk again, and now you will get an option to become adept.

Adepts automatically get their holy item directly upon becoming adept. It is given to them on initiation, and it is a magical item, which cannot be destroyed or dropped, and which at times also will serve as a weapon. It cannot be improved, but instead you may cast the spell "consecrate", which will raise the QL to the faith of the caster.
